You may have foot problems ranging from mild deformities that cause you embarrassment to issues giving you chronic pain. In the past, you may have tried many different conservative ways to treat these problems to no avail. You could be treating the wrong issue.
Did you know that nearly 45% of the population suffers from foot misalignment?
When your feet are aligned your ankle bone sits directly on top of your heel bone – the front edge of your ankle bone slightly overlaps the front edge of your heel bone. There is a naturally occurring space in between these two bones called the sinus tarsi.
When your feet are misaligned, the ankle bone slips off the heel bone, falling forward and out of line, causing the sinus tarsi to collapse and your feet to excessively roll inward.
Misaligned feet is the issue that leads to secondary conditions that often cause chronic foot pain. Once you address the root cause, these secondary problems will also improve.
Hammertoes
Hammertoes are toes that are stuck in a curled or bent position. They become this way due to an imbalance in the foot that causes your toes to basically grasp the ground when you stand. This is your toe muscle’s way of bracing themselves in an attempt to correct the imbalance of weight – every time you take a step, your toes take the brunt of the weight.
Your foot is imbalanced because it’s misaligned and lacks stability. Poorly fitting footwear that is too small can also add to the severity of hammertoes.
Bunions
A bunion is actually a bone deformity that shows itself as a bump on the base and side of your big toe as the big toe joint is pushed out of place. This adds additional pressure to the outside of the big toe and produces increased bone growth. Once you align your feet, and the pressure is reduced, many bunions improve.
Flat Feet
If you have flat feet it means that you don’t have a normal or proper arch in your foot. Instead your foot appears flat when you’re standing. It’s the misalignment in your feet that is essentially forcing your arch to lower and causing a visible collapse of the sinus tarsi, the naturally occurring space just below your ankle joint.
Heel Pain
Heel pain is a foot problem that occurs on the bottom of the heel or even in the arch of the foot. The pain can gradually increase over time. A common cause of heel pain is plantar fasciitis, inflammation of the plantar fascia ligament that connects your heel to the tip of your foot.
The heel pain can also be caused by Achilles tendonitis, bursitis, tarsal tunnel syndrome, or the collapse of the ankle onto the heel because your foot is out of alignment.
Overpronation
Pronation is the inward motion of the ankle bone and outward motion of the rest of the bones in your foot. It’s also a normal function of the foot that cushions the foot and keeps it protected from hard impact and uneven ground surface. When the inward motion of the ankle bone is excessive and goes past the healthy point of natural motion, overpronation occurs. The misalignment of your feet directly causes overpronation.
You can correct your foot misalignment – and the secondary conditions it causes – with HyProCure®, a small titanium stent that is placed in the naturally occurring space between the ankle bone and heel bone to stabilize the ankle and keep the space from collapsing. Not only is HyProCure® a permanent and effective solution, it also significantly reduces the negative effects that misaligned feet cause to the rest of your body.
