Imagine this. You start your day with a nice jog in the park, then go to work for eight hours, then on your way home you run to the grocery store and end your evening with dinner at a restaurant with your family. But you do all of this in pain because you have flat or misaligned feet. Don’t you wish there was something that you could do today that could help your flat feet pain? Lucky for you there is! Stretching and strengthening your foot is important for your foot health. While you are watching TV in the evening or even sitting at your desk, try these quick and easy exercises to give you some relief today. Can roll While sitting in a chair, take a small can and place it under your foot. Set the can on its side so that you can roll the can back and forth on the floor using moderate pressure. This will loosen your muscles while massaging the arch, which can help alleviate soreness. Toe Scrunch Begin sitting in a chair and laying a small hand towel in front of you on the floor. Start by scrunching your toes (one foot at a time) at the top of the towel and try to slowly move the top of the towel to the bottom of the towel. Once you have done this, hold your foot in the contracted position for a second. Release and repeat. It is best to do this exercise three times per foot and at the beginning of the day. Ball Pick Up Place a handful of bouncy balls or larger marbles in a box or container on the floor. Set the second box next to the first box giving a few inches in between the boxes. Only using your toes, one ball at a time, transfer the balls from one box to another. Once the second box is full with the balls, repeat again by transferring the balls from the second box to the first box. If you are experiencing flat feet pain, please visit a podiatrist. Flat feet are actually a symptom of a bigger problem. Your feet directly affect your quality of living and when you are in pain the rest of your life suffers. The pain that you are living with can prohibit you from walking, running and even doing day to day tasks.
